What does it take to replace the Roll Bar

I bought my 2001 Boxster S used and there were some serious chips on the roll bars from improperly strapped skis. I saw roll bars on ebay for $300 each, which I believe is a very decent price since new ones is about $2000. I am not sure what the conditions of the roll bar is -- I'll have to check with the seller.

My question is: Is it difficult to change the roll bar? Are there special tools that would have to be used?

Thank you in advance for yor input.
