Bad couple weeks for the Boxster

2001 Boxster S 70K miles

Last week it needed a MAF and an AOS after the Check engine light came on.
This week it needs a primary CAT and two O2 sensors!

Can you say $3500 down the crapper!? Sigh!

I get the feeling that these things are linked. Hip bone connected to the thigh bone...
Just a hunch but when my car blew a smoke bomb at the track a couple of weeks back, steved0x mentioned that a slight oil overfill had caused the same situation with him. That event threw a code saying "cylinder misfire could cause damage to catalytic converters". I think that blowing oil through the system is generally to be avoided.

Oh BTW, I picked up a used primary cat of ebay for cheap. Works fine.

Why don't you install cat-delete pipes? The pair costs like $190.

Unfortunately here in Colorado we have an emissions test requirement with visual inspection.

So do we in Cali. I swapped for cat-delete pipes and hopefully I'll get lucky for the smog test. Worst case I kept the stock cats to re-install them if needed. Or I need to find a "friendly" smog shop :D
