mass airflow sensor

can the MAS be cleaned like I did on our Chevy truck? And is it easy to get to?

Burg Boxster 07-01-2015 07:23 AM

yes can be cleaned but as w/ all they are delicate (and pricey)

not hard to get to... Cayman a bit easier than Boxster but neither difficult.

Lots of pix and DIY in archive or can probably find just as easily googling / searching youtube

Good luck :)

Here is an interesting quote from Porsche Boxster Story by Paul Frere ...
Quote:

The sensor is integrated in the air filter housing, downstream of the filter element in such a way that the film is protected from dirt. In 160,000 km (approx 100,000 miles) the film efficiency is reduced by only three per cent.

That may be the theory, but I don't think that is the reality... (at least not my reality).
