Pinouts for wiring plugs
 

Does anyone know where I can get the pinouts for these plugs in the trunk?

Are you asking for Sassmatt72? Weird that you'd both ask at about the same time. What year?

IME, you won't find a pinout for the connectors, so unfortunately you will need to trace each signal in the Bentley manual. I am VERY familiar with those connectors as I have done harnesses on eight spec Boxsters this year. Had you posted this a couple of months ago, I probably could have told what each signal was from the color off the top of my head. Now I would have to think about it... :)

That's what I figured. I have the PDF wiring diagrams, but if you are kind, maybe you could point me in the right direction. I bought my car as a shell for a V8 swap, so what you see is how it came. The guy before me was also trying to build a V8 track car, so he cut a whole bunch of wires. Are the connectors specific to a function, or is it all random? Did you find any strategies to figuring out what each wire does, or was it just a laborious method of tracking each wire through countless diagrams? I would really appreciate some any input.

It's a 2002 car. I have the factory maintenance manual which mentions each connector, but it doesn't break it down to the pins. The problem is that I bought my car as a shell, so everything came as it is. I have to work backwards to figure out what the wire function is and what wires are missing.

Yes, you need to go pin by pin, I have never found a short cut. They are not random. What I would do is make a spreadsheet with the connectors, pin number, wire color and function (I also put to/from and signal information). You can then go through the wiring diagrams and fill in the blanks. It really isn't that bad. You might spend an hour or two on it, and then you will have it forever. The hardest part is resigning yourself to do it...

Here's the 2002 DME 7.2 connector from my factory manual. That's just a small part of "Sheet 12" which folds out as 6 pages. Note that it has wire color codes and pin numbers. Let me know if you can use a more specific picture or connection.

Thanks for sharing, it will make my life much easier. The pdf manual that I was using was actually missing sheet 12. Thankfully I was able to find it online.

Nope I need the same info for a 98.
