996 instrument cluster
 

Was looking to change over to a 996 instrument cluster I'm in the UK and there's not many available so found one that will fit/work for sale in the U.S. Only difference seems to be the temperature gauge.
Then I see this on pelican tech page
"If you are located in the United States, be sure that you get a cluster that is a US-spec unit, and has the main speedometer gauge delimited in mph"
So are your speedos limited in the U.S. Then and won't read over a set speed.

USA cluster will also have light that reads "brake" rather than with the icon for handbrake

No, they mean that speedometer reads mph, instead of kph as in other countries. I think using "delimited" is not the best choice of words. A US cluster would work fine for you, as long as you don't mind the temperature gauge being marketed in Fahrenheit rather than Celsius.

The speedo can switch between miles and kilometers for both the odometer and speedometer on the digital LCD screen (at least it did on mine, not sure if you need the OBC for that to work).
And the Fahrenheit piece really doesn't matter - if the needle points straight up, it's all good. Points too much to the right, bad.
My first Boxster was a US car that was imported over to Canada. No probs with the display.
