Melted Headlights?

I just realized my dream of Porsche owernship. And am finding this site very helpful, as well as entertaining.

One question. After buying my car I've noticed that the inner lense of the headlights is yellowed in the middle. One even has a crack in it. The other looks melted.

Is this a common thing? Or did previous owner/retard install wrong bulbs? Any solutions other than replacing the whole headlight assembly ($$$$$$$$$$). Can the inner lense be removed for replacement or polishing?

If not, may just have to put up with yellow for a while.

If the headlights are amber and they are really melted and it is noticable the best bet would be to replace them with another from eBay. Better to get a different assembly without issue and blemishes then to fix one if the price difference isnt much. If the wrong bulbs were installed then it could very well likely be the bulbs fault for the trouble. Good Luck!

Without jumping to any conclusions, do you think you could post some pictures of the problem? I'd definitely want to make sure that we aren't misinterpreting the problem and then recommending a $1000 fix where a $50 fix would have worked (remember - this is a Porsche - there are no cheap fixes).
