Radio problem on 2004 S
I have this radio/navigation in my 2004 S. Problem with the radio comes usually when car has been not driven for many days. Radio is dead. Monitor is working fine and cd plays ok always. After i drive a bit and park my car, for example go to the store and then start again, radio is working okay again. Little but annoying problem. Any advice where to start with this..?

are you saying you have intermittent fm reception? if so, you may want to check your antenna connections. are there moisture problems which may be effecting your electrical connections? best to start with cleaning and reseating all your electrical connections.

pelican parts has descriptions of how to remove and reinstall the radios in these cars. they have step by step instructions with photos. on the pcm system there are just a couple of plugs on the rear of the system. it is all self explanatory. the catches on the side of the radio chassis can be a bit of a pain, and you will need a 5mm allen wrench to disengage the clips. they are a quarter turn camlock design, be patient, go slow and if you have any mechanical inclination it will be fine. unplugging and reinstalling the connectors a couple of times should clean off enough corrosion to make a connection. to finish it off, I would use a dab of silicone dielectric grease to keep out moisture from the connectors.
