Possible accusump oil line location - the unused oil port plug on top of the engine
Possible accusump oil line location - the unused oil port plug on top of the engine. Does that sound workable or does it have flaws such as:
Otherwise it seems like it could be a good place to put the oil line for the accusump, and avoid having to lose some clearance down with the oil filter hanging down low due to the sandwich plate. (and save a few bucks on the sandwich plate too :) ) The oil port I am talking about is the one used for the DOF feed go to page 3 or 4 from the end and also some folks have mounted an oil pressure or oil temp gauge in this location: http://986forum.com/forums/boxster-racing-forum/33994-oil-temp-sensor.html Does that sound workable? Thanks Steve |

The kit comes with a remote filter and this was my solution. It posted some where on forum But here it is again

Folks that are running an accusump on the boxster using the sandwich adapter (and not the remote oil filter), what oil filter are you running?
Thanks Steve |
Sandwich Adapter -part number or source?
And a follow up :
Anyone able to direct me to a source for just the sandwich adapter? Hopefully with a threaded inlet and outlet. |
Its a Canton product.

On my '06 cayman I used a spin on adapter from LN, then a sandwich adapter from Canton (22-566 single port), and a napa 1042 oil filter. I also have the old style deep sump from mantis, which hangs pretty low. The 1042 filter is maybe 1/8" below the oil pan. There is a smaller oil filter available, but it was SO small I opted not to use it. If you are a member of cayman register there is a writeup there with some pics. I put the accusump in the tunnel under the car rather than in the trunk.

Thanks to both of you. Here is a link if others are interested:
https://www.cantonracingproducts.com/product/22-546/22-546----UNIV-OIL-COOLER-SANDWICH-ADAPTER-1316-16-2-58/ There are cheaper alternatives(Quality??) on Ebay. Some have 3 x 1/8"NPT ports that may be useful for DOF or an oil pressure gauge. Some are combos & AN8,others AN10.Just search "Sandwich Adapter LS1 13/16". Just guessing this would be correct .Please confirm before you buy. |
