Washer fluid pooring out under wheel arch as I fill it
I've had my car for about half a year (2000 986) and the washer fluid warning light came on so went to top it up, but as I was filling it up, I noticed the fluid was pouring straight back out onto the floor from under the front of the passenger door (RHD car)/the back of the arch liner. Weirdly the warning light for low washer fluid has gone off and theres never any drips under the car, leading me to believe that the tube that goes from the filler cap to wherever the tank is must have come loose/broken. The car did just go in to get new radiators and had the engine and gearbox out for the rear main seal at a Porsche dealer, so I don't know if this washer pipe could have been disconnected or knocked in the process. Ive tried to remove the wheel arch liner without success to see why its leaking. Any ideas? or tips on how to remove the wheel arch liner? Thanks.

Did someone say "new radiators"? Aren't those at the front of the car near the wiper fluid line that is now leaking? Coincidence? :)
Please excuse my sarcasm. The instructions for removing the wheel liner is here: Pelican Technical Article: Boxster Front Bumper Removal - 986 / 987 |
The filler tube is sealed to the tank with a rubber grommet. The grommet sometimes falls into the tank....

Yeah I had fun with this when I was trying to install a new front hood cable. It was easy to disconnect the tank and get flooded with washer fluid, and was fussy to get it sealed back right.
