Fog Light Bulbs -front

What type of fog lamp bulbs are used on a '98 986 (fronts only) ? I kinda know they are H7, are they Halogen, LED, or ? And, what is the stated wattage, 50watts ?

Anyone got a picture ?

I did the DRL hack and plan to install Yellow bulbs in the fogs, just want to get ones that fit, and won't melt anything...

I got these and like them.

Another board member (JayG) got these and they look great too. A tad more money but they have four front facing LEDs verse two on mine. This style seems to be the best for our fogs.

Garage
they are H7 which are halogen, 50 watt I think
You can use LEDs safely

There are a few threads on DRL hack that suggest some LEDs as Chuck noted

Not sure on finding yellow ones
For DRL, you may want to stay with white
Note that the LEDs are much whiter than the stock H7s

Thanks for the pic and info. I had ordered a pair of Yellow/Amber bulbs from the e-Bay seller in China that was recommended in the hack posting.
His order never arrived and he refunded my $; so, I'm looking for another seller of the yellow/Amber bulbs. Any links will be appreciated.

With any luck this isn't the seller that stiffed you.

I put Osram Allseason yellow bulbs in mine.

I think there's little to expect from these tiny lights in any event.

Like all standard H7 bulbs, they are 55 watt.
