mesh screen vs wind speed?

When I was younger, my Father and I used to install Home Satellite Dishes like this one made with mesh, before DirectTV and such came out.

I remember discussing with him about wind being able to pass through the dish. He told me that at a certain wind speed the mesh no longer let the wind through and the dish would act like a solid dish.

I have tried several Google searches trying to find that wind speed number and I can't seem to find it.

Do any of you know what wind speed would make a mesh screen act as solid?

I'm curious to know as the front bumper I'm getting installed has mesh in it and I was thinking about installing mesh side air intakes.

I think perhaps you are over-thinking it. GT3 comes with mesh as standard in the front. I had mesh on my old S bumper and my current one with no cooling problems.

It was just running through my head as I've seen pics of cars running without the mesh on the front bumper.

jaykay, I'm digging the mesh side intakes. You have a pic of your car you could post here?

Not the best pictures as the light plays tricks with the look of the mesh......it really looks great and is very functional. I think they should have come from the factory this way

You may search and find better ones that I have posted
