For 2000 to 2004 most after market system show for either. My 2003 2.7 exhaust worked fine on a replacement 2004 3.2 motor. most differences are the tips.

If you are thinking of mods:

To pass Laguna Seca sound in our Boxster race cars? We regularly use stock head pipes (2.5) with straight pipes into a stock BoxsterS muffler. The stock S muffler is baffled completely differently than the 2.5/2.7 muffler. It weighs a lot less also!!
For not a lot of money? You can easily duplicate the factory "sport". They add an extra tube from the inlet pipe to the exit tips.. essentially bypassing the actual muffler, BUT some of it still goes through the muffler. Best bang for the buck on a 2.5? Chinese headers, straight pipes and a stock S muffler :) |
Hi everyone,
I'm living in Europe and owning a '2001 Boxster 2.7L with a Cargraphic muffler. I've noticed today that my headers were like 2.5L headers as shown in the picture, without any precat system. Is that a normal configuration ? I don't believe it is ? Could this be an issue or shall I see this as an upgrade as I have less flow restriction ? Could this be problematic to have 2.5L headers on a bigger engine, no restriction due to maybe smaller pipes ? Thanks. Michael. |
