Handbrake Conical Springs

Hi all,
Firstly, can I say a thank you for allowing me into your fold. I am sure it will prove to be a great move and asset alongside owning a Boxster.

It brings me to this:-
Q. Are the Handbrake parts (Conical shoe Springs in this case), in a 986 the same as a 911? The ones I have ordered over the net seem to be a wee bit too long and are loose/ish when in place.
Also, what are they meant to attach too at the rear?

Any help appreciated as I can't get to work!!!!
