Linkage

1997 Boxster 5 speed, HELP!! I cannot find the rear linkage. Mine came off and when I looked at it the plastic cup for the ball is chewed up. When it broke I had third and fourth gear no reverse. It would seem that part stores would carry this part seeing that they break often. My thanks to anyone who can help me.

My friend has the same problem. We ordered the adjustable link for 2001 - 2004 MY to see if that will work. We are still waiting on the part to see if it fits. It looks like the dealerships were instructed to replace all the linkage and cables (upgrade) due to this issue. I will let you know if this "Joint Rod Adjustable" (part #986 424 931 05) will work.

Wrecking yards might help. Or post on lots of forums, someone must have them lying around gathering dust.
