If a Tiptronic is puking tranny fliud

What kind work might be involved in fixing it? A parts search show that there are only a couple of seals in the transmission with a few more in the cooling lines. Beside having to drop the transmission is this a doable for the home mechanic? I know of one for a fair price that has that issue and was considering buying and repairing it or parting it out.

I don't know about the boxster or your specific vehicle but when I've had an auto trans peeing profusely it's usually a fluid cooler line. Could be an easy fix.

Check the 1/2 axle seals. Ie the seal at the tranny where the half axles bolt in.

I haven't personally done it, but I don't think it's a hard fix.

FYI to the OP, that is a project in Wayne's book

If the leak is at the torque converter area it is the front pump seal. And many times if the front pump seal is leaking the bushing where the torque converter rides in is bad.
