Motion Sensors
Is anyone's motion sensor(s) working? Can't tell if miner are. Is it for theft protection?:(

Mine work. I know because I went into CVS one day and left my son sitting in the car. I locked it, and then a few minutes later in the store I heard some horn blowing. I waited and waited for the person to disable their car alarm when I finally figured it out.... And the frantic missed calls on my cell phone from my son...
When the top is down the motion sensors are disabled when you lock the car, unless you have "the red clip" installed: Pelican Parts - Product Information: 986-504-986-00-OEM Steve |
Yep, Mine work too
Didn't know about the top down disabling. Mine do work. Thanks Steve.:)

There is a microswitch in the A-Pillar/windshield that must be depressed to activate the motion sensors. It is activated by clamping the soft top or hardtop down, or a red clip.

I learned first hand at the euro show last Saturday, hardtop on, windows down for the show, door locked. Few hours later, announcer comes on saying a yellow boxster has its alarm going off.

My '99 woke me up the other morning at 1:15 honking and the interior and exterior lights flashing.
As I was scrambling around to get it shut off, I noticed an average sized moth flying around inside the car. So - I'm guessing the interior motion sensor works in my car. |
