Grille inserts for 987

I would like to find a supplier of grille inserts for my Boxster. I'm having no luck whatsoever. I'd like some kind of black mesh designed to fit the opening to prevent bugs and rocks entering the radiators. As I live in the Pacific Northwest, the dereased airflow and cooling capabilities shouldn't be a real problem.
All I've found so far is this: http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/autotecnica_grilles/

Go to HomeDepot, and buy some material to make your own. I have seen an old post on the RennTech forum, and a guy there made wire-mesh inserts to protect the intake after a de-snorkle. Do a search, and hopefully you can find it.

How easily do the inserts come out?

I think you'll need to remove the front bumper.

Yes, that's what I was afraid of. Street Scene makes some great inserts I used for my Dodge Dakota. They installed in minutes with no mods or grill removal. I was hoping something similar was available.

Well, I'm not interested in removing the bumper assembly......I'll keep looking.

I posted this several months ago....Home Depot for the stainless mesh and PepBoys for the door edge molding...

The mesh that autotechnica has is basically gutter mesh to keep leaves out of your roof gutters on your home. They don't even make them to fit your car; they're just selling you $5.00 worth of mesh for $50.00 (PT Barnum, your office is paging you).

Now, if you don't think you have the knack for making it yourself,

has some mesh grille buards. Same material as autotechnica, but made to fit perfectly. Easy install. And you don't need to take your bumper off. These clip to your existing grille.
