Tire Width

My Box has the standard 255/40-17 tires on the back. I'm not interested in increasing the diameter. However, I would like to increase the width. How/where can I find out how wide I can go?

This info indcates that you can go to 275 on the rear stock rims and 245 on the front.

Then theres spacers you can get as well that will bring your wheels outwards more if necessary for wheel clearance or wider tires.

If its just for looks then thats ok but if its for performance you want to consider the Boxsters understeer and go bigger up front and keep the rears a stock size.

Some racers have a square setup so all the tires/rims are the same size so they can swap tires between front and back as well.
