They are the replacement for the K110s

My Boxster needs new shoes after last weekends PDS and I am thinking of getting these

I have 17's, and before I got my Hankook RS3 I was running the Sumitomo HTR Z III, which was priced very similarly to the Hankook Ventus V12. I was happy with them as a max performance street tire.

When you go to 18s, the Hankook V12 is around $140 more a set than the HTR Z III. My understanding is that they are similar in performance (according to the Tire Rack tests I have seen)

What is surprising to me, in the 18s, the Pole Position S04 is the same price per set as the Hankook V12; I have heard amazing things about the S04 that to me seem to suggest it is a better tire than the HTR Z III/V12.

You mention you went to a PDS? Did you use up the last of your existing street tires, or were you sliding around like a monkey and you are looking for better performing tires? I have never driven the V12 but I did some track days and autocrosses on the HTR Z III and was satisfied with them.

If I had to buy another set of street tires, I would get the HTR Z III again (I still have my old set unmounted, and I have a spare set of wheels that came with Dunlop Direzza DZ101. I took the DZ101 to an autocross and I was the one sliding around like a Monkey... I would not get another set of those)

For track work, I am happy with the RS3 and will probably get them again.

So I guess I probably did not help with your question :) Just sharing my experiences with the tires I have used.

I have 18's

I pretty much used up the Potenza SE-02's that were on the car when I bought it in March.
I have been holding off getting new rubber as I knew they would take a beating at the PDS last weekend.

They performed well and of course we were sliding around a bit at the edge. I'm not planning to AX on the new rubber, Ill get another set of wheels/tires for that. These will be for spirited street driving. I love the performance of the SE-02s, but at 140 rating, they don't last long. The new V12s are 320 rating and 1/2 the price. I can get a full set locally including mounting and balancing for$700

I'd go with BFG Rivals or RS3 series II. Rivals last surprisingly long and both are the two stickiest tires out there. I like the RS3s a bit more but I haven't gotten near the life out of them as the rivals. For perspective I autocross at least once a month.

2 Autocrosses ago a husband and wife spanked me in B Street with an S2000 and they were running the BFG G-Force Rivals. Of course that was the time I was running the DZ101s (but I don't think that accounted for all of the six seconds by which I was spanked...). I have heard they are a great tire and especially good for folks that are newer as they are more forgiving at the limit. I heard that can be a potential downside for top drivers because they lose the feedback that lets them go to the very edge. (I am too new to know the difference for myself...)

Most other folks with street rubber were on the RS-3 except for Miatas which were 50/50 on Direzza ZII and RS3.

Last time I went I had the RS3 mounted, and I also had a co-driver that usually wins his class and is close to FTD in his Honda fit, and his fastest run was 2 seconds faster than mine. I feel like that is progress :)

That's a big reason I want to go with other shoes
and they are N2 & N3 versions as well

Hey guys - I'm in the same boat...looking for tires for added grip during DE's and autocross.

The Rivals look great. In my size (18's) it looks like they are R compound. If you start using this compound tire on the track, do you have to consider adding a deep sump extension due to the increased grip?

RS-3s and Rivals are my current favorite for street legal performance tires. They have phenomenal dry grip and hold up well under continuous lapping. They are a bit louder and not quite as comfy on the street as other more well rounded tires but if you want's grip, they got's grip.

For a driver who plans to run a lot of track days, especially on a banked Roval like Fontana or Daytona, I recommend the X51 pan or aftermarket equivalent instead of the deep sump. I think it is more effective.

I'm using all 3 sets this year. The Ventus V12 EVO on 17" wheel which work well on the street, so they are my daily use tire. The R-S3 on 18" wheels for Auto Cross and damp track days. These have great grip. the Ventus Z214 on 18", for the track on dry. These grip better than the Nitto NT01 but wear faster.

V12 The tires work well so far and can tolerate some higher -camber a set installed and balanced was, $610

Z214 got quit a lot of inside wear at above -2 degrees chamber, on my car and my set up. So currently I am at -1.5 in the rear and -2 in the front. This gave a very comfortable feel and nice flat wear. A little rounding to the last 1" to 1.5" on the outside of the front

My Ventus V12's perform very well at the track... good price point too.

V12's are great for Daily driving and some track work, last a lot of miles, but you want the RS-3's for dedicated track tires, they probably wear too fast for daily drives.

looking for DD and maybe a little AX

I think those V12s would be perfect for that. If I wasn't doing more track days I would have stayed with a Max Summer tire like them for street and occasional AX work.
