May I have the members suggestions for
Winter tires. 17 inch wheels.

Haven't driven the boxster in the snow yet, but the blizzak LM-32 i used on my BMW 135i were nothing short of awesome last winter.

don't have much use for winter tires in San Diego, but these would probably work really well

Not a 100% winter tire! but I've got Conti DSWs on my Carrera 4 and they are fine in cold/rain and hooked up well in 3-4 inches of VA snow last year.

I've run Conti DWS for the last two winters here in Pittsburgh on my 2001 daily driver.

If you read carefully you'll note recommendation in owners manual for smaller size rears for winter tires.
