LN Eng reusable billet oil filter
Has anybody fitted or has experience with the LN Engineering spin on SS billet reusable oil filter which screws strait onto their SPOFA?
Looking at the LN website it looks a fancy piece of engineering which can be disassembled, cleaned and inspected for any debris. Reuse again so it should be good for the life of the engine - whatever that life may be !! Downside seems that it filters down to 30 microns compared to 60 microns for the paper filter and its expensive @ $250-00 each. Any takers or users here...... |

Steve, you got it backwards, it has a 60 Micron filter vs. the 30 Micron stock paper filter. It sounds like a racing piece, made to increase ground clearance when using a Accusump, and provide less pressure drop.

Ahhh, another slight cockup on my part once again...
But even so, would the slightly increased porosity stainless mesh (60 Vs 30 microns) be a disadvantage for non track use? As I said previously, the big plus is being able to see any debris in the filter when cleaning out plus it will last the lifetime of the car. With the standard SPOFA and filter, you will have to buy the cutting wheel to open up the filter for inspection. We don't have Wix / Napa / K&N /Mobil filters in Australia, so buying a SPOFA would mean importing filters to fit, that's why the billet filter looked attractive........ |
