Sounds like rubber?

My boxster is making a brand new noise today. When turning at very low speeds - it sounds like something is rubbing in the front end. It's a rubber-like noise. Not sure if it's coming from the steering column itself or front suspension. Thoughts on where I should start investigating? Thanks

Start by checking to see if the noise only happens when you're turning? If it only happens when turning, start by inspecting the steering rack and the tie rod ends for wear. Have someone turn the wheel while you inspect and you should be able to find source of the sound.

Also make sure the tire is not rubbing the wheel well liner.
