first convertible scare!

So this morning on my way to work, once I got off the highway I'm navigating through the downtown Toronto pot holes and bumps, I hear a snap and felt a cool breeze.
I then realized both windows were open about 3inches
I tried closing them but they wouldn't go up, they would go down fine, but stop at "top down mode". I looked at the latch it looked fine, but then noticed it was half unlatched, and jammed. I had to pull the top in really hard with one hand and release the latch, then I ran the top through an open/close cycle and everything was fine.
Is this typical, or did I not latch it properly causing the latch to open?

It's possible that it wasn't latched completely, and the chassis flex over the uneven pavement caused it to pop out. But that's just guessing on my part. :o

Just had the same thing happen

I am on the forum to check for answers as well...I will try what you did and see if I can pull it forward enough to latch it... Have you had any other issues?
I had driven over quite a few bumpy roads as well before it happened.

I remember first convertible scare..sigh...what a long road you have in front of you

This problem happened to me to. I credit it to the switch in the wind shield frame wearing down. I bit a small piece of electrical tape over it and it worked great.

Mine hasn't acted up since, I think I didn't latch it properly.
