Finally got my OBC working

Well after doing the upgrade and a trip to my local Indy who specializes in Porsche and BMW they had no idea. A good samaritan on here allowed me to use his PST2 and we got no joy. I knew my harness was not to blame as I ohm out everyone I build. I finally took the entire thing apart, dash, steering wheel....everything and found my smoking gun. A bad solder joint in the 4 stalk assembly. Took all of 2 minutes to repair the problem but now it is together and working like a champ. I like setting the speed gong for 40 mph for driving inside of suburban areas so I do not get into trouble.

Thanks to all the help everyone gave me...and JW thank you so much for you kind hospitality.

Dwight

Great to hear! It was a bummer to see you having issues when you made the process so easy for the rest of us

Well whoever had this 4 stalk before me there's never worked either, now to pull the seats out today and dye the carpet and start refinishing the seats.

Strong work Dwight, glad you got it going. I knew with your electronic skills it wouldn't be long, once you sleuthed out the narrowed list of suspects!

The use of the PST2

is what did it, when I could actually see the signals from the stalk it told me where to look...me and my trusty Ohm-Meter (VOM) wet to work and had it in no time.

Thanks again for all the help

Dwight

Now if I can just convince someone I actually have some skill and they will give me a job
