Cruise Control Issue

Posted this in general discussions also but did not get any response so I thought i would try to post it here also...
I have a 2001 with cruise control and recently when I went to activate it (push the button on the stalk) and the light on the dash did not go on. I checked to see if it lit up when i turned the key on, and it does light up, so I know the bulb is not burned out, but the CC will not activate (no light or function) when i push the button on the stalk. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue, and any kind of fix like CC module or clutch pedal switch maybe gone bad. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Sounds like it may be one of the switches.

This topic describes the replacement process and may give you some ideas.

I think having a brake light out will cause this also, even the 3rd brake light.

Will it help if you turn off the switch that controls the cruise control and turn it on again?
