Replacing front grilles

May be a really basic question, but is there anything special i need to replace the lower front grilles on a 2000 Boxster?

I ordered a new set from Pelican Parts and am trying to plan how much time i should set aside tomorrow night to put them in.

Is it as simple as popping out the old ones and pushing in the new ones?

Thanks,
-Tim

You will have to take the bumper off, but easy enough. No special tools required.
1hr job, tops. Clean your rads while you're in there ;)

As in, pop the condensers out of their brackets and clean out all the crap from between them and the rads. You'll be shocked at the amount of debris in there. There's a good youtube vid out there if you need a bit of help.

Since you're asking about other parts, I'd hold off on the job until you get 6 or so of the plastic rivets for the bumper cover. You won't need them all, but they're cheap and you'll need them eventually.

Plastic rivets? I've had my bumper cover off a couple of times and it is held on entirely with screws.

Do you mean the ones for the fender liners? If you're careful they can be re-used, but you are right in that it is a good idea to have a few spares on hand.

Yes, the ones in the fender liners are what I'm referring too. Interesting...my car's got three of the rivets holding the bottom of the bumper cover to the car.
When I've pulled the bumper cover, I've always also pulled the liners. I know it's not completely necessary, just habit I guess.
