What's your mileage?

I seem to be getting around 240-250 miles per tank of gas, or roughly 16-17 mpg, in my 2001 S 3.2. Nearly all city driving. Always 91 octane. Car runs fine as far as I can tell. Seems low to me but what do you guys get? Anyone use any fuel additives?

Usually around town 13 or 14 mpg is the norm. This because it is mostly 2nd gear and lead foot. Highway driving such as interstate 27 or 28 mpg is common.

NewArt 05-24-2014 01:00 PM

Between 10 and 18 depending on my mood.

jdlmodelt 05-24-2014 01:07 PM

99 2.5l getting 28-33mpg

Nine8Six 05-24-2014 01:58 PM

Those are the scores that will make a few of you big S boxster (DD) folks envy the little 2.5L base boxster lol

NewArt 05-24-2014 02:10 PM

Jeez, I knew I should have got that Prius instead of the 3.2 !

kk2002s 05-24-2014 02:24 PM

My 3.2 has a very hard time getting less then low 20 city driving 93 octane
If I push 4 - 5k Rpms at starts then I see high teens but as soon as I calm down then right back to low 20s
Hway high 20 to low 30s. 400+ miles to empty

danch 05-24-2014 03:10 PM

280 - 300 out of my 3.2S 2004 on average with mixed motorway & town driving (with a lead foot) ;)

Jamesp 05-24-2014 03:18 PM

18 MPG on 93 octane.

Reebuck1 05-25-2014 12:40 PM

98 2.5L.....in city 20 to 25 MPG on interstate 29 to 33 MPG. I have GT-3 front air dam and rear
under body panel. It helps improve air flow and reduce drag.

steved0x 05-25-2014 01:25 PM

2000S, last few tanks of gas:
21.43 mpg
18.15 mpg
18.89 mpg
19.51 mpg
22.63 mpg
11.56 mpg at Roebling
24.25 mpg all interstate on the way to RRR

Not 100% accurate because sometimes when I fill up the gauge only goes up to around 7/8 but I have learned not to keep going or else I may spill some gas.

I always see right at 20 in my 2000 3.2....I usually drive a good mix of hwy/city. I am envious of you getting upper 20's...wait, no, I like my 3.2 performance....I have my Kia soul for the mpg ;)

sb01box 05-25-2014 05:54 PM

2001 S getting mid 17's with a mix of city and highway 9 (and the occasional lead foot )

Ebell914 05-27-2014 04:53 PM

sb01box - that is what I call keeping records!!!

cardiffgiant 05-28-2014 08:56 AM

2002 s. Typically between 13-17 around town.

dghii 05-28-2014 12:59 PM

2000S and 2003S both get 19-21mpg around town.

Highway trips are more like 28mpg.

LOL!! That's almost too damn funny.

My 03S has been averaging about 22mpg. I have about a 10 minute city drive to/from work. I generally get into 3rd only a few times, so I'd say I'm generally aggressive when driving it. There is a lot of stops along the way though. When I drive the truck it takes me almost 15 minutes to get to/from work and I get about 12mpg with that.

Did a PCA club back country road drive Sunday. About 130 miles of "spirited" driving total with around 80 miles of twisties. Spent a lot of time in 2nd and 3rd. Averaged 19.8 MPG for the entire drive on my 04 S. and about 3.5 hours of smiles per mile
