Top won't drop.

Got the car out for a run downtown last night. Top won't move. At first the windows dropped when I unlatched the roof. Then nothing after that. I tried several times. Then the windows wouldn't drop when the latch was released. The top is totally dead. Windows work fine on window switches. I can think of the button on dash, roof latch, hand brake and maybe a fuse. Where do I go to trouble shoot it ?

Does the parking brake light come on the dash when you set the parking brake? If not then it is the micro switch in the parking brake, a common issue.

Parking brake like comes on. I tried it again tonight. Windows dropped when roof latch was released. Still nothing when the button is pressed.

Fuses, relay, handbrake, loose plugs or wires?

The micro switch over the center latch is actually two switches in one.
One of them is working because you get the windows to drop but the second switch which controls the motor may not be working.
In a quiet environment push the micro switch pad with your finger very gently.
As it moves you should hear two clicks as each micro switch is activated.
If you only hear one click there's your answer.
I've also seen where the second micro switch is operational but the latch doesn't deactivate it because it's stuck and I've had to physically pull down on the pad to have the top work.
Happy Boxstering
