Window Regulator Where to buy?
I need a new window regulator on my passenger side. Are both the drivers and passenger the same part number? Also where is the best to purchase one from. I have seem them on ebay for under a 100 and then pelican over 200. Any thoughts or experiences?

Take it or leave it.... I bought a $100 ebay unit and it lasted 3 months, then I installed an oem, it still sounds and functions like the day I installed, it two years later... just sayin... do you want to spend $240 or $340 like I did?

Thanks for the offers and advice. I ordered a 103.00 one from a parts distributor that I trust. We will see how long it lasts. I order mostly order oem parts but for a window I'll take my chances.

what made you decide you needed a new regulator? most of the posts i see are that the window will not return to closed when the door is closed or the top is latched. is that what yours was doing?

Just had to buy a new regulator today. Got it from Pelican Parts and it was around $270 (with free shipping) but did find out afterwards that sunset porsche has it for $230 (not including shipping). Mine was for the drivers side.

tnoice: what was happening that required a new regulator?

Mine was not dropping appropriately and was making some crunching noises. I put my new one in yesterday. Pain in the ass to line up a non Porsche brand regulator. It works fine now.

Just fitted new drivers regulator over in UK, fiddly but works better than old one (squeaky). changed it as the cable snapped on old one. Cost me £103 for OEM ($170).
Took me most of the day though and paranoid the airbag was gonna blow….. |
99 boxster window reg
I replaced my sons 99 boxster passenger window regulator bought on Amazon approx 60 bucks, lasted 4 months. Same crap plastic end slipped and jammed into unit and kinking the cable. Any suggestions on something more reliable? I made a new rule that if something is tagged MADE IN CHINA, I don't buy it so I assume the cheaper unit is from there.
