Brake pad selection
I am upgrading to S rotors and calipers and need to order front pads. I don't want to spend a ton on the stockers so what are my options for street use?
If it were me, I'd go with the OEM Textar pads. They dust but they work. :)
On pelican they show Porsche or textar? Textar is cheap? Should I just order them?
I've used Textar for street too. Dusty but very good. My tech said to buy them too.

I just put a set of Akebono ceramic pads, front and back for the 986 Boxster S in the classifieds section. Supposedly a very good pad for noise and dust, but I ended up not putting them on because I started doing track days and I'm going with EBC Redstuff.
For some insanely inexpensive/cheap pads, check out the economy pads on rockauto for the Porsche Boxster. Like $13 a set or something :) Centric, I bought the posiquiet ceramic ones for my son's Miata. Haven't put them on yet so no feedback yet. |
