exhaust smoke

at the track today I noticed some occasional puffs of white smoke coming from the exhaust under hard acceleration / high revs. other than that it runs and drives fine.
rings, seals maybe? anyone had anything similar?
thanks

Possibly air/oil seperator (AOS) failing. A quick test - with engine hot and idling, try removing the oil fill cap - if its difficult to remove (vacuum present) its the AOS.
Some track people also use a competition AOS, and deep sump kit to help combat oil surge in the sump and if you'r really keen an extra anti-surge oil pump in the cylinder heads + pressurised supplimentary oiling system.

it wasn't very hard to remove the oil fill cap, but there was certainly a vacuum. could hear it, feel it when I put my palm over the hole. also, the rpms went up when I removed it, back down when I put it back on.
