Baby needs new shoes. Any experience with this bargain brand?

Run Forrest Run!!! (Edit: just my respectful opinion based on two sets of this brand on two different vehicles) The Miata that I just bought my son to replace his wrecked one had a worn out rotted set of these that the previous owner had gotten at Tiresplus. Before the drive back we had to get new tires and Tiresplus was the only one that carried 195/50-15 in stock. They made serious fun of that tire and steered us hard away from getting 4 more. We instead ended up with a set of Falken Ziex 912's.

For a Boxster right now, budget max summer tire, I think the sweetest deal has to be the Kumho Ecsta LE Sport which has a $100 rebate, so a set of 4 is only $334 n 225/45/17 and 255/40/17:

The Ecsta LE Sport doesn't appear to come in 205/50-17 which is the stock front size for a 17" boxster but many folks run 225/45-17, and if you call tire rack they will confirm it is an approved size.

For the stock 17" sizes, the HTR Z III is priced nice and low:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR+Z+III&fr ontTire=05YR7HTRZ3XL&rearTire=54YR7HTRZ3&vehicleSe arch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Porsche&autoYe ar=2000&autoModel=Boxster S&autoModClar=

I am running these right now, and have done 2 tracks days and two autocross as well as around 8,000 miles. The fronts have almost 30,000 on them and I am getting ready to go to an extreme summer tire, probably the Hankook RS-3

Since I have 17"s that is all the feedback I have, but you can check tirerack and also read some threads here to get tire feedback. It is mostly about how you drive and the temperature of where you live, and what you want to get out of the tire. Since your tire was a budget summer tire, I gave a few examples.

Edit: also a 99 Tacoma that I bought had a set of Primewell tires. They look good, aggressive tread, white-out letters on the side. But they are junk, I had one sidewall separate already and the tires (while I am unsure when the PO put them on) they still have most of their tread and a relatively new dot date code. They ride like $%^&, but they sure do look good :)
