QTP Cutout Exhaust. Is It Ok?

Hello, my name is Nick and I am 18 years old. I have a 1999 Porsche Boxster with sports package, etc. I have a question regarding the Quick Time Performance electric cutout exhaust system, or electric cutout systems in general. I enjoy the stock exhaust sound very much, but I am young and just simply want more. I am on a tight budget and instead of purchasing a very expensive race exhaust system I am going to take the cheap route and go with one of these. My question is... Is the cutout exhaust safe for my car being completely stock aside from pre purchase add ons? My father is worried about there not being enough back pressure, then causing it to "suck up a vale" which will be very costly to replace. Please leave your opinion regarding this type of exhaust mod and if it is safe, dangerous, or just stupid.

How is the cutoff cheaper? You'll need two, plus the installation. Dont worry about back pressure, the engine has the cat converter right against the cylinder head...

I think the cheapest route is to remove the muffler and add bypass pipes
Make the Pedro Sport Exhaust

Would you say that the "PSE" method is better sounding than a full cat-back exhaust system?

I couldnt tell you, I have headers and a NHP exhaust.
Ive never heard a 'PSE' exhaust, but everyone says theres no drone between 2000-3000 rpm...which is something I wish I didnt have
