Camshaft tool P253
Okay, next in line is the camshaft locking tool P253
Is this $235 tool necessary to set the cam timing? http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1394808674.jpg |

Which doesn't look difficult. I easily fabricated the camshaft hold-down tool. Here I see a piece of flat bar with a disk which mates with the slot in the camshaft to lock it parallel to the seam. Is it exactly parallel? If so, I could construct this in an hour or so. Might not be quite as pretty. Thanks for your input! :-)
BTW is there a functional difference between this tool and the 9612 tool with the lovely red knobs? |

Davedeck, I'm in Montreal. I may be interested in this (it's the P253?). Depends on the shipping cost etc.
