Coolant smell in the cabin

There is the smell of coolant coming out of the air vents so my thought is that the heater core or the hoses going to it are shot. Does anyone on the forum have have experience in this area? I checked the exhaust and it is not coming from there, it is unquestionably coming from the vents.

Check your heater core for a leak. Very easy to get at from the front trunk area.
