Missing part near the roof

Hey everyone! I'm currently looking for a used Boxster to buy, but didn't have much luck so far. I'm looking at a car that seems to be in very good condition, with a small cosmetic issue: it's missing a part of the bodywork near the convertible top.

See picture. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1392622653.jpg

Edit: I think I've found the part no. in the online catalogue:

986-504-861-00 price: 18$ (used) / 68$ (new)

However, I can't see if the thing is bolted or glued, nor which parts of the bodywork must be removed before I can put this thing back on.
If anyone has any experience repairing / replacing this, please tell me about the repair costs, and how much effort it was. Thanks!

I woder if any water has gotten in there??

Water shouldn't have gotten in there, that piece comes off to mount the Roof Transport System. The two open screw holes, have plastic caps in them that the wingtip trim piece is attached. Be aware they only sell that piece unpainted.

Thanks for the information! I talked to the dealer again, and he said they've now fixed the problem. Apparently they had the original part lying around somewhere.
I'll take the car on a PPI on friday, and.... hopefully become a Porsche owner ;)

Just FYI, to answer you original post edit, it simply pushes in. If you look at Roof Transport installation instructions you will see how it works. Link

You can pop it off with a credit card. To attach it, the two pins on the bottom of the trim piece, push into the two plastic caps. To install the RTS mount, you pop it off, unscrew the plastic caps, and bolt on the RTS mount. That trim piece shouldn't come off under any normal usage.

Best of luck with the PPI!

@Nimbus, great link I have been looking for a replacement for my scratched one in the correct color!
