Head Gasket Sealant

Has anybody used or know if you can use a head gasket sealant on the boxster. I have the tell tale sign of white smoke and disappearing coolant. Would a sealant be ok for a temporary fix whilst I save up for the replacement gasket or will it do a greater damage? I'm gutted as I've just replaced all of the coil overs and she was running perfect again.

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks

I've found K Seal which promises to answer all my problems, has anybody tried this ?

In all the years I have worked on these cars, I have never seen (or heard) one blow a head gasket. And the OEM head gaskets need no sealant of any kind.

Would there be another reason the coolant is leaking into the engine and causing it to smoke white other then a cracked cylinder ?

Most common failure are cracked cylinder heads, followed by cracked cylinders:

These engines use MLS head gaskets. Don't even consider using a sealant. If you have intermix, it's not a blown head gasket- the gaskets are stronger than M96 heads. We've never ever seen a head gasket fail on these engines.

You have a cracked head or cylinder. You may beat your head against the wall trying to figure it out and waste a lot of time.

Your not going to feel any better after this either. Check your compression do a leak down test or have your local mechanic and expect the worst.

WOW! Someone tried to hone that cylinder!!! Guess they never heard of Lokasil before! Must have thought they were working on a Chevy 350!
