Stock exhaust base vs S

Will a 2002 Boxster S exhaust fit a 2002 base boxster?

Does the sound change or will I get any more hp from it?

Thanks
Mike

It fits. Maybe a different sound. I'm pretty sure the only difference is tips.

as a previous owner of a 01S, and a current owner of a 99 base, i can confirm that both exhaust will fit. you might need to move the brackets from one to another.
sound is the same. only difference is the tips.

What tips would you suggest for better sound on a Base?

Also, many have said if you have ever driven an S that you would never want a Base, you appear to contradict that line of thinking. I for one, don't believe that is true, in fact many auto industry writers have often, throughout the years, mentioned that they actually didn't prefer the S, stating that less weight among other things, made the base unit more desirable in their minds. Just curious on your thoughts, Meir.

An s is 300lbs heavier I believe and has bigger brakes. I had a base and could never go back to one. That is just me though. All Boxsters are great drivers.

Anyone with news on tips? Isn't that something a Mohel would say?

Anyway, I am very interested in the subject to improve the sound of my car

You are right.
I sold my 01S with 80K miles on the clock to a friend of mine.
I just bought my first house, and needed the money. Part of the deal was cash and his 99 base with 155K miles. Still drive strong, but nothing to compare with the S.
After all, the S has 50HP more then the 99 base (3.2L Vs 2.5L).
I didn't drive the 2.7 so I cannot compare here.
The only thing I like better on the base, is the 5G trans Vs the 6.
My next S (when and if) will probably get a 5G implant.
As for our subject, puting S mufler on a base, is not going to give you any differens on the tone. Many pepole like the Pedro mode. Have a look at that.
In fact, I have a modified muffler seating in my garage, that will probably go on the car with the clutch job I'm planing soon.
