lever on driver's seat

The car I am looking at has a manual lever on the door side on seat bottom. The lever dose not seem to work as a matter of fact it is hard to move and almost came out. What is this lever for and is this a common problem?

The lever moves the seat up and down.

There is a spring that helps the seat up so don't put your full weight on the seat if you want to move the seat up.

Going down is easier - just put your weight on it.

I hope this helps.

yes that helps. It will not be an issue as long as the seat is all the way down.
