Head and tail light electrical fault
Have developed some kind of fault. Here's the current situation.
Rear tail light on passenger side does not work. Have changed the bulb, no dice (original bulb actually looks fine on inspection). Rear brake light and indicator etc on passenger side work as normal. There is also a problem with the front headlight on the same side. Dipped beam works fine, high beam works fine. But when you switch the car off with the head lights on, the passenger side turns off completely. Driver's side is fine. I forgot to check if the passenger side headlight works in position one of the headlight switch, am guessing not. Any ideas? |
Does your car have DRL?? If so it could be the relay, located on the left footwell. You could also check the grounds inside the 'boot'- they're on the inside wall near the hole used to remove the headlights, on either side.

Sorry, what is DRL?

Daytime running light-- on my car, as soon as it starts, all of the lights come on. If I remove the relay than the manual switch operates normally but my low beams turn off when I turn on my highbeams.

OK, thanks, so yes it's the DRL that I'm pretty sure isn't working on the passenger side, along with the aforementioned tail light.
My DRLs are only on when the light switch is turned to position one, if that makes sense. |
