Project 3.6 coming together

I spent most of last summer trying to figure out what was causing my car to run "strange" Durametric showed it was R-kat and Frau values showed difference between left and right bank and it was all a real headache. After I changed a few things I ended up renewing the MAF-sensor last autumn. And "bang", the LN sleeved 3.6 finally ran as intended.

I managed to get few descent runs with my Escort G-meter just before winter hit and it showed 0-60 times of 4.7 sec. I must say I am quite satisfied with the result. Unfortunately there is no dyno over here, where I live, so this kind of testing is as good as it gets. It is relatively simple to conduct but it makes the clutch smell like hell. But the car is just amazing. Cant wait for this winter to give in.

Before the engine rebuild I had experimented with some G-meter runs with the car in stock form. That gave 1-60 in 5.8 sec or just about what I would have expected. I then de-snorkeled the car, put in a 74 mm throttle body, 997 plenum, Airbox from a 987 and some Topspeed headers off Ebay. I wanted to open both intake and exhaust up to prepare the car for the bigger bore. After this all, I got 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds as average of few runs in opposite directions on the same stress of road. All in all an interesting experiment.
