I notched it out slowly with a dremel, which worked very well. I smoothed it all out when done with a grinding stone.

Next step is to thread in the fitting into the dof. I thought I trimmed back enough bell housing but I didn't. Instead of unseating it and removing it I purchased a 5/16 24pitch Allen head plug from the hardware store so I can put that in its place and remove a little more material with out the threat of shavings getting into the dof.

Grinding complete, fitting fitted, tensioners re torqued and cam lock and crank pulley lock removed.

New name for the dof. Damn Oil Feed. I have a 987 airbox and let me tell you it's a pain in the you know what to get to the oil feed plug on the head. I'm not taking out the airbox so I now need to run to the hardware store to buy the one tool I seem to be missing, a 3/8 swivel.

FYI you can just drill a hole for the oil line rather than grinding one out. I test fitted my DOF cover and marked where the hole needed to go. Then I started with a small drill bit and worked my way up to a 5/8" bit in the end. Start to finish was maybe 30 minutes for me using this method. I think it's also a little less mess.
I see you got a package with only one cam plug in it. I e-mailed Mike at TuneRS about this and he's going to start including two cam plugs in the future.
One hint on the oil feed - thread the hose onto the oil feed plug first and get it most of the way tight, but not fully tight. Then put the oil feed adapter in the head. It should still rotate fine with the hose a little loose and you can get it tight. Then put the final tightening on the oil hose line. It can be pretty tricky to get the oil hose on the oil feed adapter once it's already in place. Putting the oil line on first makes it a much easier job - at least it did for me.

Drilling a hole would have been nice. I am up to just tightening up the oil line on both ends. They are threaded already with no big deal. Thanks for all the advise though. It is a easy job to do as long as you are not afraid to get dirty and make a mess.  I'm just hoping for no leaks after all is done. This was the first time I, myself have done a rear main seal and the DOF. I'm pretty confident it should all be ok though.

Ah, okay. I had one heck of a time with my 996 threading up the hose at the head, but access there is completely different on a Boxster. Once I figured out the trick I shared though I got it done quickly...
