1999 986 boxster roof won't open
 

Hi guys need some help. My boxster roof won't open. When you release the handle on the roof the windows drop, but when you touch the roof down button I can hear a relay click but that's it the roof will not move! Any help appreciated!

Start by checking fuses. Then check the top latch switch (the button inside the latch hole) and the top microswitch. Both are located behind the top latch cover.

To open the top latch cover, remove the two black alarm lenses (they look like alien eyes) by carefully prying/clicking them out (they just snap in). Then remove the two Torx screws holding the latch cover and you're in. Very common for the top microswitch to fail - I replaced mine twice in three years.

hi thanks for getting back to me. Did you have the same symptoms as me then when it was the microswitch? I also forgot to mention that sometimes when im driving the windows drop.

Loose relay!! Drivers side footwell!!
