Water Pump Change - coolant loss

Just changed my water pump and had a vacum fill. I have had to add 1.5 L of premix since after driving for a total of two hours

Is this normal or do I have a problem!!

Normal. It's burping.

Thanks for your feedback!

I had assumed that the pressure fill would limit the top up to 0.5 L or so.......live and learn

yes a good vacum fill should have eliminated that problem.
A good burp is ok but now monitor your coolant level and temp.

After filling your system, you can then use the Uview tool to pull vacuum again to draw out any remaining air pockets that might exist.

Thanks yes, I wish I owned the tool! Do you think it is safe to let it settle on its own?

If you follow the burping procedure you should be ok. Watch for dropping coolant levels and especially watch for any sign of overheating. Tell Santa you want a Uview Airlift for Christmas. Don't let him feed you any crap about shooting your eye out! :D
