P0301 Code - after spark plug tube replacement
Yesterday I replaced the Spark plug tubes on the right side of the engine.
After that the check engine light started flashing and it is running rough. I bought a Actron 9125 code reader and I got the following (I may be giving superfluous info) P0301 misfire 5INC Mil On Monitors 02 Sensor O2 Heat Catal Evap Sec Air 3 Ready Misfire Fuel Comp I think the pertinent message is the P0301 misfire code. I don't even know which is "cylinder one" - could it be the front right cylinder? I do not think I damaged the coil, but it may not have plugged back on to the spark plug well. I do know that the connector came off on the front right coil so perhaps I didn't get it plugged back in correctly. Also, I broke in half the top AOS tube (duct taped it so I could test run it) and wonder if that could have something to do with this. Any recommendations are welcome! Thanks. |
Check the plugs are all seated tightly into the coil packs. Did you look at the coil pack when you had them out. There is a tendency for them to crack and ground out. It produces a week spark.

I had the same error code when I did my plugs and tubes.
My problem was that the connector wire to the coil packs were not tight. I had to make sure each of them "snapped in". See the attached pic of the cylinders. Looks like it's the one closest to the passenger door. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1382930847.gif |
I was told this on one of my recent threads - By Jager. Which one is it then?????
2-4-6 on the left (US driver's side) 1-3-5 on the right (US passenger side). |
I'm having problems after my tube/spark plug change last night. I'll have to keep an eye on this one. Mine mainly just smokes - no codes yet, but I've never let it warm up.

I had similar problem but it was quite simple, I didn't fully push in the wire plug.
