Newbie Suspension questions
So I'm finally getting my 98 ( 85 k) roadworthy after buying it from a loser dealer in Tacoma::
(painted out CEL for one) another story Anyway a few questions on suspension Going over bumps after car is warmed up there is some banging going on back there rare when just starting out in AM? What would be the likely cause? worn bushings where? Drivers side tire is contacting the fender well once in a while as well clearly a different sound any pointers would be great OH one other question I've been eying those headers on ebay any thoughts on those?? http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1381804618.jpg |
It looks like the rear tires are poking out too far- this would cause tire to fender contact. Are there wheel spacers behind the wheels? Maybe the wheels are off a 911. They look like Porsche Sport Design wheels, a BBS 2-piece wheel that was optional for 2001. There was a Boxster and a 911 fitment. The Boxster is 9 x 18" and the 911 10 x 18". If you've got a 911 wheel on there it could be contacting the strut as well. The wheel size is stamped on the inside face and would be a good place to start searching. Also look for signs of contact on the strut.
