Help requested for new owner

I have just bought my first Porsche a Boxster S, 2001 and I have a few problems that I would like to solve:

1.Although there is coolant in the system (up to the mark in the tank), if it is driven hard or when in slow traffic the warning light next to the temperature gauge flashes, even though the temperature reads 80, (which I think is normal), any ideas what might cause this. Does it read coolant level or temperature??
2 The key fobs do not work, no light when the buttons are pressed. I think these can be repaired, I saw a place in London through a Google search. Does anybody know a good place in south central UK.
3. The rear screen needs to be replaced, does anybody know a good place to get this done, again south central location.
4. Wheel refurb, any good recommendations?
5. Just also noticed intermittent problem with door window sync and closing. It appears to work if you re-set it as noted in other threads but then forgets when closed from outside. Drivers side only.
6. Windscreen whippers do not return to off position when switched off, they just stop at that point. Also intermittent wipe does not work.

Many thanks for the help

Hi Aviator, welcome to the forum, best advise i can give you is look on e-bay and buy the Bentley service book for Boxsters. Brilliant book and you'll be surprised just how much you can do yourself on your Box (thus saving a packet).
Good luck with your Box :cheers:http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1379870151.jpg

1. Blinking coolant light is low coolant level. Coolant level sensor is on the bottom of the coolant reservoir.

2. First try replacing the battery inside the key fob.

Losing coolant could be from a cracked coolant tank or pipe. A wet trunk under the liner is a syptom of that.

A dying water pump is also a possibility if the is a puddle under the engine.

Puddle under the front of the car means leaky connectors at the radiators or the rad itself.

If the oil on the dipstick is like a milkshake then water is getting into the engine through a cracked cylinder or head.

You need to determine where your losing it ASAP else bad and expensive things could happen.

Thanks for help...

Coolant is an odd one, there is no evidence of problem with head gasket, or any evidence of leakage anywhere, but level drops after use but comes back up if the cap is loosened when its hot. Could there be an air lock somewhere if so is there a technique for bleeding system.
