Drivers wing mirror problem
 
Hi

I've just joined this forum because I have got myself a 2001 Boxster S. It has a problem with the drivers wing mirror not moving up and down. And there is no motor sound. The left and right movement works perfect. And the passenger mirror is also working. Any ideas how I diagnose what is causing this problem. I have a multimeter. I suspect the switch or the motor is faulty. How do I confirm this ?

Also could it be a bad connection behind the door panel.

If the mirror works up-down on the passenger side, you can rule out the switch being faulty. My guess is that the up-down motor on the driver's side is the culprit. Or, as you wrote above, it's a loose wire. Hopefully that's all it is.

If the motor is faulty, does it mean buying a complete wing mirror ?
