18's --> 17's and Caliper Clearance
I've got a 2000 S w/18's and I believe larger brake calipers compared to a base model.
I'd like to get some 17's for DE's and AutoX - and I'm wondering if OEM's 17's will have trouble clearing the calipers - especially the fronts. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. TIA - |
17s will not have trouble clearing the calipers. As a matter of fact, S models came from the factory with 17s unless opted for 18s as an option. 16s, however is what I believe will cause problems.

I have a base Boxster that that now has S brakes. This is a post that has a couple photos actually showing the clearance Boxster S II rims.

Sacrilege, but I have backdated a BoxsterS to the early calipers so we could run 15's :)
We tried running S calipers in our Grand Am car.. it made the bias even worse than what we had with the 2.5/2.7 caliper up front!! |
I have a very nice set available off of my 2001 S. I am up in the DFW area.
