P0442 and P0430

Hi guys:

About 2 weeks ago, the CEL lit up. The Durametric showed P0442. This is a minor fuel ventilation leak. I cleared the code and tightened the fuel cap. Today, the CEL lit up again with codes P0442 and P0430.

Many posts suggest the problem is a cracked fuel cap o-ring. My fuel cap is only a few months old so that's unlikely. I'm might replace it just to be sure.

Nonetheless, I'm looking for other suggestions. There is one common condition to when the CEL lit up. Both times, the fuel level had dropped quite low - about half way between the low fuel light popping on and empty. Not sure if fuel level is playing a role here or not.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
